What We Do
In all the courses and seminars conducted at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College, the Faculty of Management is responsible for imparting capabilities and skills required to perform management tasks in the Bundeswehr. In doing so, our lecturers take a closer look at different levels: the perspective of the organization as a whole as well as the structures and procedures of teams and agencies and individual points of view are all taken into account. As far as the overall organization is concerned, we focus on the management system of the Bundeswehr and its management processes. With regard to teams and agencies, we explain procedures of command and control, consultation and decision-making in staff work, taking the different environments of ministries, command authorities and service offices into consideration.
The Faculty of Management makes a significant contribution to enhancing the professional expertise of our students. In particular, we enable them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex organizational structures and procedures within the area of responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Defence, such as integrated planning, organizational development and resource management. Last but not least, we make use of the principles of knowledge and change management to help leadership personnel to improve their methodical capability to act in a complex environment that is constantly changing.
We offer an extensive modular course program for the purpose of further developing our students' professional and methodical skills and competences. Our courses are open to field-grade officers and reservists, but also to senior civil servants and civilian personnel in equivalent positions.
